Hello! I'm Leaving Substack
And here's why...
Hello dear subscribers,
I hope the summer is treating you well and that things are going your way.
This is an informal post to let you know why I’ve decided to leave Substack. I loved it so much when I first joined, but I honestly can’t keep up anymore.
It’s not because I haven’t found many fantastic writers whose work I’ve enjoyed reading. I know who you are and I’ll be sure to keep getting your newsletters and look out for your new books. However, I need to spend less time on “social media” platforms and more time on old-fashioned communication with those I wish to stay in touch with and who wish to stay in touch with me.
It’s also because I’ve just found out that Substack supports Nazis, white supremacists, and anti-semites, and makes money from hosting them. I heard the whisperings when I first joined, but had no idea how widespread it had become. If you didn’t know either, here’s an article in The Guardian from earlier this year. I cannot fully describe how distasteful this is to me.
If you’ve enjoyed the free content I’ve posted here and found it helpful, you can always subscribe to My Bodacious Blog through my website, where I post the same content. If you couldn’t care less, that’s OK too.
I want to give a shoutout to the terrific writers whose work I’ve read here. If you’re not following them and enjoy their genres, I highly recommend:
C.J. Cooke
Alma Katsu
Tash Jefferies
Maya Bairey
Jaime Buckley 💎
Jason Garman
Liudmila Brus
Tammy Komoff
Liz Horsman / Cassiopeia Crowe
J.M. Gooding
Luna Asli Kolcu
Verdant Butterfly
Bradley Ramsey
Ray Van Horn, Jr.
Landon Poburan
Cae Hawksmoor
High Priestess Lakeisha
Finally, if you wish to find me on other social platforms, I’m on Bluesky and Instagram as @bodaciouscopy and on LinkedIn.
Thank you for your interest in my posts and for supporting me here. Keep writing!
Love and light,
Christine Bode

I totally hear you, Christine! And, so respect your decision! I started a Substack and then found about the Nazi subculture and support on the platform so have let it go fallow. Its hard to find any platform free of some connection to war, genocide, ecocide and on and on these days. I'm still on Patreon and occasionally posting on Instagram to stay connected to my followers there. So hard to know which direction to go! I'll continue to read your newsletter and look for your posts.
Sorry to see you go! Though I totally get it. Hopefully I’ll still see you on Bluesky!
